June 18, 2018The beginning of October 2017 marked many things, the official end of summer, the build up to Halloween and Christmas and … International Coffee Day. We wanted to embrace this day and the relevance coffee has in our lives (and the office!) by celebrating with and promoting local cafés in York.
We wanted to establish a more personal business to business connection and start showcasing to local businesses what RENU can do and be used for. We started by creating an International Coffee day stencil, and we used their trending hashtag to show up on any search results on the day. The Pig and Pastry in York were one of the many cafe’s that were kind enough to let us spray their window. The owner, Steve, was extremely trusting and loved how the paint worked and came to be. We originally had planned to apply it in the days leading up to October 1st and then remove it immediately afterwards, however it got such a good reception it was left on for longer.
The people who saw the application and removal of the paint were very interested in how it worked, and were shocked when I told them the story of how it came to be and how it really works. They were amazed that the paint was so durable under any regular cleaners and that it could only be removed properly by our non-solvent gel. After explaining what it could be used on they all had ideas for personal and business-related uses in the future.
Zak, our social media guy: “The experience was great for me to take and develop a project and see it come to fruition. Obviously if given the chance to do it again I’d change some things about it, I’d have started to plan it all out much further in advance and try and finalise more establishments to be involved. Despite the flaws we have made contacts with numerous places who may have not been involved with this project but are definitely eager to work with us in the future. ”
The signed looked great and everyone involved was impressed with how easy it was to remove.
Well done Zak
